Where to report defective products?

Christmas is certainly the merriest time of the year not only because of the binges on food and drinks but also because of the presents that we receive.  Here in the Philippines, Christmas in the Philippines does not end until Jan. 6 (Feast of the Three Kings) or even Chinese New Year.  By now most of you have already received your gifts from ninongs/ninangs and exchange gifts but what if the gift you receive turns out to be defective or starts malfunctioning?  Don't fret though.  Consumers are entitled to have defective or malfunctioning item replaced as long as it occured within the warranty period and there is no fault or negligence the part of the consumer (RA 7394 THE CONSUMER ACT OF THE PHILIPPINES).  If the seller refuses to replace the item, you can file a complaint at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) thru their call center hotline (+632) 751.3330, (+63917) 834.3330 Office Hours : (GMT+8) 8:00AM - 5:00PM Monday to Friday.

Always remember this:  CAVEAT EMPTOR!
